AWP

The slot machines referred to in Article 110, paragraph 6, letter a) TULPS (the Consolidated Act of Laws on Public Safety) are known as AWPs (Amusement with Prize) or New Slots. They are authorized by the Italian state concessionary authority (AAMS) and allow players to win cash. The first AWPs were regulated by the 2003 Financial Act and the Decree of 4 December 2003 and were introduced on the gaming market in 2004. Following the 2006 Financial Act (Law No. 266 dated 23 December 2005) and the Decree of 19 September 2006, these early slot machines models were replaced in 2007 by new, safer versions with better performance, the current AWPs.
